Due to the name, I'm ordering one.

  1. Where can I buy, take my money! I would buy a tool with the name of the owner of one of the best blogs!

  2. Not to mention that that square turns an insurance agent into a competent carpenter. Insurance agents talk things into place...

  3. There's also a large model speed square. I use both of them, a lot.

  4. Swanson is the way to go. Stay away from the crappy chinese ones. The degree marks are like 3/16ths wide.

  5. I have been in carpentry for 29 years this month. Swanson makes the best speed squares. My first was a Mecklenburg-Duncan. Equally good but not sure if they are still around. The Swanson comes with a great book that if you study there isn't much that you can't build. I still prefer a framing square and a set of square nuts for rafters and stairs but I am old school taught. The speed square fits a whole lot better in a tool belt though.

    1. I have drove nails with my Swanson in tight areas that I couldn't get my 🔨. It has little dings but has never broke. It's about 15 years old now.
