All cool except during a typhoon

  1. Not bad if your structure is 1-2 feet above the top of the island, and made out of concrete.

    Coral islands are remarkably stable, unlike sand islands like those in the Bahamas.

    What that atoll needs is a deeper passage out of the atoll reef, then it'd be pert-near perfect.

  2. There is that channel out of the reef to the left. The dynamic of coral reefs and islands is this: The ocean crashes over the barrier reef and then needs a place to go, so there is almost always a channel where the current is STRONG, exiting the lagoon.
