A win for our personal rights and freedoms, but there's much more to do nationwide.

"Broward County has ignored repeated attempts since 2011 by Florida Carry to gain its compliance with state law and left us with no choice but to file this case," said Florida Carry Executive Director Sean Caranna. "Let this case serve as proof that when local officials refuse to stop breaking the law in order to deny the rights of Floridians, Florida Carry will act to demand that people's rights be protected."

In his ruling Judge Carlos Rodriguez granted Florida Carry's request for summary judgement and permanently enjoined Broward County from enforcing their illegal gun laws. Florida Carry was also awarded reimbursement of legal fees.

Summary judgement means there was only one ruling that could be made with these facts and law - no trial necessary.  The fact that they got their attorney fees too shows what a strong case they had, and how overtly illegal the actions of Big Bertha Henry were.

She's got credentials, but she sure isn't educated.  How about standing up for people's constitutional rights next time, Bertha?

  1. The illegal criminality this administrator engaged in COST HER NOTHING. Any monies that are awarded as damages come from the pockets of taxpayers....and she is free to continue her willful criminal misconduct.....and WILL DO SO.

  2. the suction her existence generates is the only thing keeping Miami from flying off into the firmament.

  3. So when will these law violating public officials begin to be held accountable? It seems as though they do whatever they want, use our money to mount a legal defense, and if they lose they just say "never mind". How about they lose their job, any and all government pensions, and never be allowed a government paycheck again.

  4. The judge should have had her cuffed and led off to a year in the county jail for open and repeated contempt of the law and violating her oath of office.
