This woman is the daughter of a scientist in Russia who has security clearance to enter the Ghost City – the areas around Chernobyl that are complete ghost towns. What she does is ride her motorcycle as fast as she can through the area in order to not get hit with too much radiation as she explores. She documents what she finds.
The roads are very low in radiation because of rain, but if she wipes out and lands in the weeds, in certain places she could die from the amount of radiation she would absorb.
Here, she goes back years later and tests to see if the radiation levels have gone down at all.
Fascinating.

Not sure if this is the same lady or not, but there are some interesting reads here:

She's radiant.
ReplyDeleteIf she’s not now, she will be after sufficient exposure. Or was that ‘luminescent’?
Deleteguys generate sperm 24/7. We can take radiation damage and not care all that much. Women have just so many eggs. They never have more than they started with and bombardment with radiation ruins them. If they don't want kids, not a problem.
ReplyDeleteSaw a documentary a couple of yrs. ago where the native wildlife, including a few human holdouts, were showing no adverse effects from the radiation.
ReplyDeletecar must be this old timer she told about on her website, she said she only drives it to Chernobyl, car is too contaminated for every day drive
