I'm impressed by the quality of pictures I'm getting from my Nikon, even in the very low light conditions I'm seeing this morning.

  1. I purchased a similar setup. It's been decades it seems since I used an SLR. A DSLR is even better. I can also use the lenses from my old Nikon FM from 40 years ago. I have yet begun to take advantage of all the things one can do. Then there's the movie option which adds a whole different realm of features.
There's even a Nikon D3400 book for Dummies. I highly recommend it if your new to DSLR's.

  2. The 3400 has Bluetooth built in and the pictures can transfer to your cell phone. Pretty cool.

  3. Nikon was the most popular in Vietnam. The first camera I bought there was a Nikkormat which did not have a light meter, then a Konica, others and the last was a Canon FT which stood me in good stead until stolen from my hotel room in Vietnam in 1992/3?

  4. This is an ugly time for DSLR's. If you want low light capability go get a D750. They can take pics in the dark. And for a little while low shutter count models can be had for very little money. I have a D610 and D750 with extra battery packs for both. Was offered $1400 for the pair by a dealer. Due to new models coming in the pipeline and mirrorless bodies, the perfectly capable full frames are seeing their values drop like rocks in a lake. I'm keeping mine to give to relatives to use on trips but they are showing up on ebay. These deals won't last long but it is an extremely cheap way to get into full frame and the better lenses that will allow.
