And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

“Yosemite Camp Kitchen” – art by Albert Bierstadt
This is so correct for the Sierra Nevada. When I saw the image but before the title, I thought, "has to be in the Sierras."
Some of his other Sierra Nevada paintings are amazing as well. I saw one in person, it was about 7x12 feet, felt like I could walk right into it. Just magnificent! He was one of the artists sent west to paint areas that were being considered for national parks, so congress could be swayed to designate them as such and fund them.
