Yuba River at the Highway 49 bridge this year. Hard to shed that kind of inflow.
And now that the emergency spillway is overtopped, the water is coming down a gully and making a muddy mess. That should clear as the water carves down to bedrock, but that will take a day or so, and by then maybe they will be able to drop the lake down below the 901 foot mark.
Did that bridge survive?
ReplyDeleteYep, been there for decades, and has survived several such floods. They built them well in the old days.
DeleteThe water is now in full flow over the emergency spillway, and it's anyone's guess how soon it will be before there is some serious undercutting.
