The latest on Flight 370

David Mearns had this to say:

"I think essentially they have found the wreckage site," the director of the UK-based Bluewater Recoveries, David Mearns, told 7.30.
"While the government hasn't announced that yet, if somebody asked me: 'Technically, do they have enough information to say that?' my answer is unequivocally 'Yes'."
Meanwhile, the searchers have found an oil like substance floating on the sea, and have a sample on it's way back to Perth for analysis.  If it turns out that this is from the plane, they know they have the right area.

The red stars are confirmed pings from the black box. The highlighted box the search area, for now.
Meanwhile, the New York Times has published a hit piece on the lack of effectiveness of the Chinese efforts to help, and even assert that they in many instances have hurt the efforts to find the plane.  That's got to irritate the Chinese, especially given their concern with with "face."
