The federal unfunded liabilities are catastrophic for future taxpayers and economic growth. Atusdebtclock.org, federal unfunded liabilities are estimated at near $127 trillion, which is roughly $1.1 million per taxpayer and nearly double 2012’s total world output.

As Glen Reynolds likes to say, "What cannot be paid, won't be paid."

We should either take the medicine now, or prepare for the worst.   Honestly, the politicians who have created and perpetuated this travesty ought to be made personally liable.  Only the threat of confiscation of all their wealth and prison time to boot could possibly cause them to change their ways.
