Edmund Burke defines a big reason why so many low information voters screw our country every election.  In other words, here's why they shouldn't be voting at all.

Men are qualified for liberty in exact proportion to their disposition to put moral chains upon their own appetites.... Society cannot exist, unless a controlling power upon will and appetite be placed somewhere; and the less of it there is within, the more there must be without. It is ordained in the eternal constitution of things, that men of intemperate minds cannot be free. Their passions forge their fetters." -- Edmund Burke

Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?

  1. Yep - that is a good summation of the hoplophobes as well - they know they can't control their base instincts and claim that since they can't do so, none of the rest of us should own firearms.
