One kid and I took a morning drive today.
Sunrise comes at a much more civilized hour this time of year.
Two old oaks and an old horse soak up the morning sun
Hinges made right last forever.
The Cosumnes River dries up not far after this point, but here it still has a decent pool even this late in the year.
The road to the Gold Country is quiet this time on a Sunday morning, but it calls to the traveller just the same to go around the next bend or over the yonder hills. Why resist?
Pepsi and find food in Drytown
One odd red tree among the dark green oaks. Looks as if the cattle have eaten everything they can raise their necks up to bite, leaving it with this perfectly flat underbelly.
It's hard to get up in the morning and hit the road, but the rewards are there if you can do it.
