And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
If attempted, it will become a modern "ship of Theseus" on 2 wheels. Seriously, older bikes (1970's apparently) are still common enough that the above isn't worth the effort.
Steel gas tanks on bikes rust out quickly when they're left standing with fuel inside. The good news is, there are always modern replacements, although most of them are plastic, and often a little more capacity.

ReplyDeleteI've never seen a tank rusted like that, almost completely gone. Maybe it sat with the cap open and water collected halfway up?

ReplyDeleteJapanese "Rice Burner" bikes are not so great.
ReplyDeleteperhaps an old KZ-900. Had a date and got drunk on one long ago... a wonder we made it home.. she was not impressed.
