And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Two Harbor Workers In Their Traditional Klepbroek In Voldendam, Netherlands (1904)
We had a Vet from Lodi, WI, Dr. Ted Polma (sp). He often visited us, wearing wooden shoes like that. The horses couldn't break his toes, if he got stepped on, his feet stayed dry, he said they were very comfortable.
"If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much!" - said with authority, a thick german-like accent. He had our respect.
