And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I love my wee dog but were he an angel I suspect I wouldn't need to clip him and clean his arse from time to time. There's nothing in the Bible to indicate he'll be in heaven with me but were he there I'd be happy for him. He's been a loyal friend and is always pleased to see me. In return I spoil him yet he never seems to take advantage. He's a good and reliable friend.
