And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
there used to be (maybe still is) a hotel in Yreka i stayed at occasionally when i was riding through the area that had these retro pink bathrooms that were reminiscent of this, but on a smaller scale. I always picked the place because i dug the retro vibe.
This is a prime example of the good old days when plaster craftsmanship was an every day occurrence. Good luck finding someone today that can build those coves right into the walls as well as work out the mud beds for the tile.
Stayed in a 'past its prime' motel once when motorcycle charging problems found me after sundown and roughly 100 miles from home. Long story gets longer. I had, no lie, to sign a statement stating I would not deal drugs on the premises. Another reason I remember it, had black sink and commode forget if it was tile or linoleum. Fun times.
The drawbacks are obvious. Still, it looks very nice.

ReplyDeleteThe floor in my grandmother's bathroom had those tiles, but they were white with a few black ones interspersed in a pattern.
ReplyDeleteThat one white stripe screws up everything.
ReplyDeleteIs there room for three in that shower?
