And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
In WW2 it was common for pilots flying in for the first time to be enthralled by the beauty of the tropical islands on the blue sea. Upon landing reality hit home. Many are better today (and I've loved the few holidays I've had on Pacific islands) but take away the bug control and bars to see how long you last.
In fact, I would say "blues."
