And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Actually, special forces wore/wear a Rolex when in country as currency accepted everywhere, in case they have to buy their way out. Not showing off, not dumb.
In the fell the safety is in your mind. I hand carried a hand held a M-60 and never used the safety. When doing a hot refuel we just pulled the barrel out. Never had a accidental discharge. I now carry a Glock 17 every where I go with one in the chamber with no problems in 59 years.
One guy is not doctrine. people for decades, civilian and non, wear them and at times for that reason. no way to tell but would bet less than 5% of ODA owns a rolex. 4 teams in my life and maybe 2 guys. 24 years and I wore one, caught nothing but shit from people.
“Guy’s wearing camo everything, how did you spot him?”
ReplyDelete“Reflection off the big dumb shiny watch he was showing off.”

DeleteA Sea Dweller. Specialty watch, goes way deeper than my Submariner.
ReplyDeleteGold sovereigns in an money belt are far better retention wise than those tiny pins holding that behemoth on your wrist.
ReplyDeleteChutes Magoo
You should advise the special forces of that opinion. The "tiny pins" don't fail much.
DeleteThe SF Rolex thing is so absurd. Not remotely true.
