And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
last 30 years or more, we always had a "pair of dogs'. they seem to get along very well when we had to leave them home. one thing I have noticed was if the older one died , the younger one started to go "south" after that. even with a new pup in the house. it just wasn't the same for the one left. it was heartbreaking to watch the one left just kind of shut down. at most they lasted maybe 1-2 years after the older one passed on. no matter what we did for them.
