    1. Sign is a real attention getter that doesn't need a paint job just refurb'd "falty" neon to announce a retro-style restaurant. Menu would offer a homestyle combination of basic steaks & burgers including 24-breakfast. Maybe roadside style fish & chips and Q.

  4. Sad, time to get out of Dodge.

Jackson's gone to hell, sadly. Grew up middle class on E. Northside Dr. Boyd Elementary, Chastain Jr. HS, then Murrah. Is Shatley's still open in Madison? Went to State with both of his brothers. One was a Pike (my frat) the other a SAE.

Jimmy Hood took me through Warren Sr's new digs in Eastover in Summer 1969. Corner of Meadowbrook & Eastover. Push button phone that could switch to digital from analog. 5 buttons at the bottom. One was labeled "WATS". Jimmy, WTF? "Oh that's Wide Area Telephone Service - an 800 number." How much a month? Jimmy - I think $300 or so. Multiply that by 6 for today.

His father clerared trees so his helicopter could ladndin the 13 acre property.
