And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
A hot 44 Remington Magnum load will generate 1,600 ft-lbs at the muzzle, while a hot Casull will generate over 2,000, compared to 6-700 for the 357Magnum. The 44 has a .429" bore and operates at 36,000psi while the Casull has a .454" bore and operates at up to 55,000psi from a case that holds 20% more powder. When Dirty Harry was filmed, the 454 was a custom gun only built by Casull and you couldn't buy ammunition for it, you had to handload your own. Al_in_Ottawa
The nice part about a Ruger revolver is that the are built like a tank. They don't have the butter smooth trigger of say a S&W, but you won't wear one out either.
Have the 2 1/2" and 7 1/2" versions. The 2 1/2" is better for "social work". Both are easy to shoot. My 115# wife and her 105# friend fire the 7 1/2" with ease. As for all the girly men out there decrying the horrible kickback, there's no more kickback than a 38. Learn to shoot and take the tampon out of your mouth.
Several Rugers in my toy box but not anything like that. Rheumatoid wouldn’t allow it. I would shoot it with lower powered 45s though. I love my SP101 in 327 Fed Mag.
Must be Ruger day. I likey.
ReplyDeleteCan't even hold it much less fire it. The arthritis is really screwing around.
ReplyDeleteHow does this compare to a .44 magnum, "the most powerful handgun in the world, it will blow your head clean off"?

Thank you, that's interesting.
DeleteIt will sink the hammer in your hand unless you have a single man's grip

ReplyDeleteOne writer referred called Ruger revolvers "the T-34 of guns."
DeleteI had a Super Redhawk. Long barrel. Nice shooter. No worse than a .38 snubby.
