And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Brings back loads of memories. When I was a kid my dad had a 656, 806, 2x 856, 1256, 1456, 2x 1066, 1586 and a host of smaller ones,,, Although unsophisticated, they were powerhouses. He and nine other big farmers actually bought the I-H dealership. I believe that the 1206 version was a turbocharged 806,,,, long ago and far away. Their pickup trucks were undependable junk. Tractors, great.
The #1 reason my hearing is nearly gone in my right ear, I always turned my head left to watch the plow, disk, rake, etc. The only time I turned right, was bailing hay.
Constant pounding on the ear drums... hearing has been screwed for life.
We had a pair of 656s on the farm, one low boy, the other a Farmall, and both with hydrostatic transmissions to keep things simple. Also had a pair of old Case SCs that handled lighter work.
