And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My very favorite shoe that I wear daily! Have multiple pairs (older ones for working in the yard). Available in wide sizes as well. The waterproof model is the one to get in my opinion. Dressy enough for most occasions but also rugged enough for work.
Any boot wax will do. I make boot wax out of beeswax and boiled linseed oil. Heat the shoes under the wood stove, heat the wax on the stove, then apply the wax with an old sock. You can finish up with a hair dryer.
The wax darkens the color of the shoe but I don't mind.
Totally agree. The soles last a lot better than the cheapies. I wish they weren't quite as slippery and squeaky on tile when wet. I'm on my second or third pair.

ReplyDeleteSame. I have to waterproof them though.
DeleteThat is to say, the waterproof ones are water resistant for only one season, then they need more water proofing.
DeleteAlready got two pairs. Good shoes.
ReplyDeleteHow do you waterproof them, when it is time to?
