And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
God bless Joe and his family. Shot Saturday mornings with many Vets over the years ; WWII, Korea, Vietnam. It’s the Korea stories - friendly fire napalm ,foxhole fighting, and the frozen dead Chinese - stripped of their clothes by comrades and left on the field …
Knew a man that was there, 18 yo Marine. told stories about the cold that made you feel it. Told about wave after wave of Chinese soldiers charging their position. There was more he experienced, but he didnt talk about that. He passed a few years ago, very few Korean War vets left.
Three Korean War Vets I've been privileged to know from early life. One walked out of Chosen (USMC), another US Army Infantry, the third was a Tanker in a Sherman. Dad was WWII, and listening to the stories told around kitchen tables from my youth in the 60's..........
God bless Dr.Hank Levine . On Chosen R. Went Through the worse of it, as a medical doctor even though he graduated as a psychologist.. Mentioned in a few books. Wrote a few books on PTS bringing it into light. Told me a story once that he was pulled over by a state trooper. Not for an infraction. It was for his license plate that spelled "CHOSEN" The trooper just wanted to tell him his dad fought on Chosen and thanked him .He lived till he was 100 years old. ....Marines and Army on Chosen special heroes. McArthur was an horses ass.
God bless each and every single Marine who participated in the "Forgotten War."
ReplyDeleteLooks like So Korea is going down the drain too.
