  3. I don’t see an “MP.” We carried 1911a1’s at Fort Gordon.

    1. I was an MP in the Army(1975 to 1980), that looks like basic training squad leader armband. As an MP, we would be carrying a .45 and a ring for our baton and a cuff holder, our armband would have MP and would be carrying our badge pinned to our breast pocket. We could carry a rifle or shotgun on occasion if the need warranted.

  4. In the early 70's we wore an mp brassard, wore our web belts with our bolstered 1911's and a night sticks

    Fatigues were for after hours, mid shifts, class As or Khakis, during day and swing shifts

    We carried 5 D cell mag lights for illumination purposes on

    Occasionally we carried 20" M16s too

    Europe, during the cold war
