Desert Crash Pad

  1. On an Arizona elk hunting trip, noticed many "desert rat" homesteads, they all where off grid, most had a water system using large above ground plastic tanks usually set high as possible, probably for the head height. These properties looked serene, most totally isolated from neighbors, almost made me want to relocate, and set up out in the high desert, with the fine all round weather, the small towns have great culture and resources, I can understand why folks like it there, mild winters, even at the higher altitudes, doesn't take much to get privacy what with the lay of the hilly terrain and off road road network, providing excellent access. Great place. Though water resources must be a challenge, solar resources are first class so off grid is a no brainer. The hinting is world class too, the elk and deer population is high enough to fill the freezer with out much effort.

  2. I can't tell if this old fart has a newspaper or a laptop on his lap. I kinda hope that it's a hard copy of a local newspaper.
