    1. Yes but it could not land without breaking the propellers or the landing gear

  2. It flew well despite being underpowered and had some outstanding characteristics like very short take offs and landings. It was followed by the XF5U which never got to fly apart from a brief hop while being taxied. Time passed the XF5U by because the special propellers it required were delayed until it would have been obsolete but it looked cool. It was scrapped in the late 1940's.
