And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Vought V-173, an experimental American aircraft from the 1940s popularly nicknamed the "Flying Pancake".
It flew well despite being underpowered and had some outstanding characteristics like very short take offs and landings. It was followed by the XF5U which never got to fly apart from a brief hop while being taxied. Time passed the XF5U by because the special propellers it required were delayed until it would have been obsolete but it looked cool. It was scrapped in the late 1940's.
I'd commute in that.
