And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
In this era of return to real, whole foods, it's quite surprising and laughable that we were allowed to consume something that came in a toy (sno cone machine, Easy Bake oven). I also remember another toy "Incredible Edibles" in which you poured out some kind of colored goo into molds, let it set, and -- you got it -- eat it! That was back in the mid-sixties. It all kind of makes me think of the 'bourbon' concoction Mr. Roberts and the Doc created.
My next door neighbor had this and the easy bake oven. She supplied us with these treats. Then she moved on to actual baking. She supplied us with great munchies through the early 70's.
The taste was not that good.
ReplyDeleteI had one of those! And the neighbor girl had an easy bake oven
ReplyDeleteSame here! On a hot summer day, even just plain shaved ICE was great!
DeleteOh yeah, not much flavor but it was sweet and cold, as little kids it was great.
