And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Is this a metaphor for America in the Middle East? Just when we thought we were out; we slide back to the same spot we have been for the last 25 years.
Unfortunately WE are a package deal. They always chant "Death to America". I don't remember them yelling "Death to the warmonger wing of the party currently in power in America that has decided to attack us"
On Day One, Iran launched 100 retaliatory missiles back. Yesterday, it was 8. All day. And we'll be dropping dumb bombs with impunity by the metric f**kton any minute. This isn't going to be the 50 year tar baby the perennial doomsayers imagine, any more than Saddam inflicted the Mother Of All Wars on us in 1991. Long before summer, they're back to pissing in the wind, using their left hands to wipe up, and looking for a handy goat to copulate with.

And Iran going apey on its neighbors was the last straw. The whole ME is now against Iran. Whatever comes now won't be what has been.
