And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Well, swings are just pendulums and the political pendulum has already changed direction and it looks like it is getting a lot of momentum on the way down. Iran war, $4 gallon of gas, tariff wars, Greenland invasion, long TSA lines and ICE killing Americans are all helping push that pendulum very hard in the opposite direction.
No need to move if you don't want to. An election is coming soon and voting is free. Go out vote and move the country in your preferred direction. People vote, politicians have a few years to improve our lives. If things don't work the way people like, we get to change our minds and vote again.
Most Americans seem to think that was the case. Trump is today less popular than Biden. During Biden's administration employment was higher, job creation was higher, inflation was trending down and now it is trending up, fuel prices were trending down...
You may want to pick your head out of your echo chamber. The mood in the country has changed. When you get 8-9 million people protesting on the streets it means that many, many, many more people are unhappy with the direction of the country. Not unhappy enough to go out protest, but certainly unhappy enough to vote for someone else in November.
