And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
If you follow the link at 4.57am, it says the bridge belongs to the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority). It's kind of hard to raise train tracks. Al_in_Ottawa
I've seen "kneeling" buses that lower themselves to allow passengers easier access- we need trucks with a "duck" feature that will avoid hitting low bridges- just a thought-
There is a railroad bridge that goes over State Route 183 in Ohio, that was hit by over-height trucks enough that the road was finally lowered to increase the clearance.
One in Davenport, Iowa too. Railroad bridge and real low. Flashing lights all over the place for a couple of miles out but that thing seems to get a truck or two every year.
