And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
the very best pup/dog I ever had looked just like this. a 20 dollar pound hound. great hunting dog. so good that my one uncle tried to steal him and would have if not for the fact that my Dad told him I shoot his ass if he tried. Jack was great dog and 17 years was not long enough. 30 years now and I still miss him.
last hunt with jack was when he was 14. he didn't move as well. but once he saw the shotgun, you would have thought he was 7 or 8 again. we went over a field that was just gone over by a pair of dogs and he still managed to jump up 3 rabbits. by 15, the vet said he was going blind and his hips will start giving him problems. his teeth where about gone too, so he lived on cooked ground beef and chicken for the last few years. he had earned that much from me. as you say, he was always ready to roll or do anything he was such a great dog that my dad even slipped him food at the table when he thought no one was watching. and that was something I never saw him do before.

Per normal, I love that "sad puppy eyes" look. It melts my heart.
ReplyDeleteWaitin' for daddy to say. "Let's roll!"

Lost mine in Sept and I'm starting to think about getting another. It's tough.
