  2. I recall reading a Road & Track or Car & Driver article where they were on a Nuclear Submarine. Quoted on of the Diving Plane operators (for lack of a better term) as saying 'They let me drive a Billion Dollar Submarine, but I am too young to rent a Car in California".

  4. My uncle dropped out of college at 17 to fly for the Navy. More than once it was a variation on "They let him fly aircraft wired for nukes. which he has to have a guard posted before he can leave the flight line, but we still don't trust him with the family car."

    1. Pretty sure that is untrue unless he was a NAP. Even during WWII enlisted Navy pilots were rare. No less nukes, where were only around 5 or 6 platforms in the Navy (one now) that could carry them. Few of these carried enlisted aircrew,
