  1. Just purchased one at work. We've got a monster fan with some huge bearings, and it just wasn't worth the time shooting a tube each by hand. This will empty the tube much faster. I'm not sure it's me, or not, but doing it by hand grease usually only comes out one side of the seal. Using this, it seems to come out almost the whole way around. Our fan only shuts down for a few hours a year, so it's a near complete flush with red one month, and blue the next. When the purple stops, you're good.

  2. Grease guns and caulk guns are difficult to control when delicate finger pressure is involved. For massive insertions like Millerized described they are probably alright. For regular work you'll waste a lot of material and time cleaning up.
