  4. One of the smartest breeds of dog there is. If you have ever seen a cattle dog work the cattle into the holding pen by hand signals and a few single vowel commands it's a sight to behold.

    1. And then there are some who know what to do without a command being given or a word being said.

      Her name was Terry. She was half Border Collie and half Kelpie. And as aggravating as she could be, strong willed as she was, it was my honor to be partnered with her for 15 years. It was an amazing experience.

  6. I rescued an ACD from a double wide existence and when the free range cattle wandered into the frontyard I opened the front door and he ran them off the property and came prancing back like he had been doing it all his life. It's in the genes.
