    1. No, it won't sear. For that you'll need their new smoker/griller, but although state of the art, it's pricey. If I want to sear, I'll use the stove to get a skillet real hot, then sear, then transfer to the smoker.

    2. Thanks. I had seen some debate about it's ability to get direct flame on to meat. Saw the other one, but yeah that is pricey.

  4. There was one for $150 off at the scratch and dent. I could not find the defect.

    FYI: you need a sear plate to sear a steak. The Recteq one is about $60 but a Webber for $30 from Lowe's will work.
