Gonna Bitecha

  1. Oh man, seriously love some wild boar. First one I bagged, it smelled so bad I was reluctant to butcher it for meat, (buddy of mine has an old farm nobody in his family cares about, gave me open season for hunting them, awesome deal), but once we cooked it up, its the sweetest tenderest piggy meat, my grandma likes it so much, loves her some ribs to gnaw on, she hands me some gas money/expense money, (don't need it but you know grandma's, they got the sweetest hearts), to spend a few days out of work so I can bag a couple, and we can have a few feats at her house. Not alot of meat on the regular size, 250-30lbs, but one that dressed out at 438lbs was decently loaded with good muscle, was missing an ear, one eye and right lower tusk was broke off, he was a tough one to kill, took 2 44 mag rounds to the head, and he still laid there on his side trying to run. But lordy do they ever stink, if your down wind you can find them by their smell. The stock on the old 92 Winchester reeks from using it on those boars.

  2. Bitecha? More like kill ya if you let it get close enough.

  3. That boar is a bit dead folks.

Usually they prop the mouth open with a spent rife casing if shot, so I'd guess this one was taken with either a pistol or perhaps a bow/crossbow?

They shoot these on preserves in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, among other places.

The yield of final packaged meat is low given how heavy these boars can be,

It isn't unexpected that even a high power rifle round doesn't get all the way through one.

The eating is fabulous. Quite a treat!
