  1. Those are great but ya need the glass lid for it too when you don't need to pressure cook. Gonna make me a nice chicken bog today in it, if I get off the couch. Been a long week.

  2. Our son gave us one about 10 years ago and we've used it about 3 times. Seems to be made for people that consume HUGE volumes of food. That ain't us.

Plus, how do you clean the inside of the escape valve in the lid? All the food steam runs through it. eeeuuuwww

    1. I took my mother's old Prestige pressure cooker after she passed away some years ago. As it was in a terrible state I spent some time cleaning it. When the weights were disassembled I discovered so much gunk, eeeuuuwww indeed! All rubber seals were replaced as well. In winter I use it almost weekly for batches of broth. Worth its weight in gold.

    2. We use ours often enough....2, maybe 3 times a month....that unlike some of our other kitchen appliances (how many times am I actually going to make waffles?), I kinda like our Instapot. Our daughter passed us her father-in-law's wife's (who is Mexican) recipe for Refried Beans that we make so often that we keep the recipe in the Instapot.

I take your point about the nooks and crannies that might not get cleaned well. We just use a small diameter brush that I think we found in the baby department.
