And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I'm amazed at how many of these I see out in the wild.
My mother-in-law (92yo) had an Apple Watch, she fell down and the watch sent a message to all of her kids with her GPS location so the paramedics were able to find her.
Got my wife an Apple Watch for Christmas nearly three years ago and even though she is nearly a computer illiterate she took to it as if a duck to water. She says that she can't imagine not having one. Dan Kurt
Yes, it is always listening. But..... my wife has a bad habit of putting her iPhone on 'silent' when she's teaching, and then forgetting to turn the ringer back on. And another habit of forgetting where she laid her phone down, coupled with a tendency to leave it absolutely anywhere, a different place each time. So you can see what those three things add up to.
But with the watch, she can ping her phone and it will chirp loudly, even with the ringer turned off. So now she's like Dan's wife, mentioned above, and I actually have time to make posts like this one, instead of hunting down iPhones.
In her phone's contact settings, go to your contact, scroll to ringtones and select Emergency Bypass On from the top of the list. Then you can call her phone and it will ring even if muted.
No thanks

ReplyDeleteNo offense to anyone but I miss how “risky” life was 40-50 years ago. We were tougher, healthier, more resourceful.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget less diverse.
Delete...and overall, society is now <70 IQ. That's why it seems there are so many shitstains running around - because there are!
DeleteUnfortunately far too many folks can't actually read an analog clock anymore. Pathetic.
ReplyDeleteApple Watch on trail with a bear in the background over top of runner: "Congratulations, you've lost 170 pounds on your run today!"
ReplyDeletegood for the soy boys..how many you got??
ReplyDeleteCorporate beholden surveillance device. Don't forget that aspect. It never stops listening.
