I'm amazed at how many of these I see out in the wild.

  1. My mother-in-law (92yo) had an Apple Watch, she fell down and the watch sent a message to all of her kids with her GPS location so the paramedics were able to find her.

  2. No offense to anyone but I miss how “risky” life was 40-50 years ago. We were tougher, healthier, more resourceful.

    2. ...and overall, society is now <70 IQ. That's why it seems there are so many shitstains running around - because there are!

  3. Unfortunately far too many folks can't actually read an analog clock anymore. Pathetic.

  6. Corporate beholden surveillance device. Don't forget that aspect. It never stops listening.

  7. Got my wife an Apple Watch for Christmas nearly three years ago and even though she is nearly a computer illiterate she took to it as if a duck to water. She says that she can't imagine not having one.

  8. Yes, it is always listening. But..... my wife has a bad habit of putting her iPhone on 'silent' when she's teaching, and then forgetting to turn the ringer back on. And another habit of forgetting where she laid her phone down, coupled with a tendency to leave it absolutely anywhere, a different place each time. So you can see what those three things add up to.

But with the watch, she can ping her phone and it will chirp loudly, even with the ringer turned off. So now she's like Dan's wife, mentioned above, and I actually have time to make posts like this one, instead of hunting down iPhones.

  9. In her phone's contact settings, go to your contact, scroll to ringtones and select Emergency Bypass On from the top of the list. Then you can call her phone and it will ring even if muted.
