And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Having "been around the horn" several times with headlamps, I had to learn the hard way before I found the right way.
The 2 uses I have for headlamps is for lighting the path before me when walking or examining something close, in the dark or less favorable lighting conditions.
Therefore, all I require of the headlamp is for it to have TWO levels of illumination, one for up close (reading) and one for distance (walking) and the best way to learn and know how to adjust for them is a simple 3 position switch, off/on ; low ; high.
Headlamps with all sorts of silly doodads are difficult to master in the dark and are more prone to disfunction and generally cost more money.
One more thing, headlamps that require batteries can be reloaded with new batteries when the old ones die out.
If you have no way to recharge internal batteries you can be left SOL at the worst time.
FWIW, anytime you are using a headlamp you should also have a reliable pocket flashlight on your person. 2 is 1 and all that....
Who walks around with a pocket full of AAA batteries? The point of TWO headlites is that one is on a charger while the other is in use. They use a USB charger/connection. You can charge off your vehicle, not just your house.
I have been using these for near a year, and I would have spent more on batteries in that time. The only complaint so far is that the 3 position tilt has gotten weak. I need to see if that can be tightened up.
One useful trait is that you don't have to clean your hands and then pry the body open to switch batteries. Also, it's common for the crap batteries that have been sold since O'bummer to suddenly dump a load into your headlite that corrodes the spring connections. I've had to toss headlites for that reason. The rechargeables don't seem to have this problem.
I keep both chargeable and battery powered headlamp and flashlight. That 2 is 1 bit 1200 lumens is pretty bright for a headlamp. Just don't look at me when you are talking to me.Be aware that is more than annoying. Turn it off or tilt at the ground
