  2. This photograph reminds me of natural cold springs at various places in the high desert east of the Sierra Nevada, south of Mono Lake, across the Whites, the Panamints, into Death Valley and beyond. Several feature a rock pool built by oldtimers. They are refreshing on a hot day.

    Yes, I described a wide area. There are many cold springs. But while there are many they are spread out and sometimes hard to find. And sweet water, boy oh boy, sweet water. Which is curious as the area is rich with evaporate deposits which makes for hard water.
