And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
This photograph reminds me of natural cold springs at various places in the high desert east of the Sierra Nevada, south of Mono Lake, across the Whites, the Panamints, into Death Valley and beyond. Several feature a rock pool built by oldtimers. They are refreshing on a hot day.
Yes, I described a wide area. There are many cold springs. But while there are many they are spread out and sometimes hard to find. And sweet water, boy oh boy, sweet water. Which is curious as the area is rich with evaporate deposits which makes for hard water.
Not if that's a rare earth processing bed next to it.

I too have a few favorites. Each a few hours hike from the nearest road which keeps the obnoxious people away
