And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I remember my mom giving me a nickel when I was 4, and I would walk past the town hall to the next street over. There was a little mom & pop store where I would trade in the nickel for a popsicle or fudgsicle. Sometimes in the summer a brass band would play near the flagpole of the town hall.
Couldn't wait on a hot summer night till the PopCycle man came around in his white open cab vehicle ringing those bells back in the early '50s.
