And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I'm the guy who started the Boycott American Women blog, and i admit i was quite a woman hater but i went thru a spiritual awakening and now I'm trying to heal women instead of hurt them. Anyway if you wanna ask me questions or do an interview, just DM me on instagram at tantrahealermaster
Tonka made a Camper ? Way cool ! Mine was the standard red cab dump truck with yellow tilting bucket in the back. I think Mom donated it much later to a younger cousin. Tough little guy - wish I had it back just to put on the top of my computer body and reminesce.
My Tonkas were a dump truck, a motor grader, a dozer and a front end loader. Dad built a sand box in the back yard and I'd play for hours by myself, which Mom loved. I'd be out of her hair but she knew exactly where I was and that I was safe simply by looking out the kitchen window.
I'm not sure what ever happened to my fleet. I probably wore it out. :-)
It's a fond memory of mine, one which I think of often.
I always amazed my Mom because I could entertain myself by myself. She told me there weren't many kids that could do that. It's always been a quality I've appreciated having.
Elmo I too had the Dad built sandbox 2x6's not sure how big and could entertain myself for hours as well, indoors with Lego's. Nowadays I can barely crack myself up.
I received the cement mixer for my birthday. Jealous older brother threw it off our porch repeatedly while I was at the dentist. Only thing left was the frame when I returned from the torture session. I was too tired and drugged to do anything about it. Still pissed about it.
I had the yellow dump truck. It was passed on down to my younger brother. 9 years my junior. Then on to a cousin.

I think there's still a green one laying out in the yard somewhere. All rusty and I go around it with the mower.
ReplyDeleteThere’s a guy on YouTube that restores these, amazing process and results. It’s called Chip Channel Restoration
ReplyDeleteI had a functioning fire truck and a yellow tow truck. Those things were the closest things to indestructible toys that were ever made
ReplyDeleteI had the Jeep CJ fire truck. It had a fitting on the rear, that a garder hose would screw into, so it worked!
DeleteI got the one because my gramps's truck with camper was the same color, that's funny.

I still have my BuddyL Cola Truck from from 1960 I believe. Well used but not bent or broken. Oh yeah, minus one wheel.
ReplyDeleteThere are reproductions of that sort of part out there.
Delete"Every kid loved these?" Have you turned Lib? Call me a misogynist (but also a realist) but I only remember little boys playing with these. :-)
ReplyDeleteNo sisters, huh?
DeleteTonka, yes. Tonka campers, no. Tonka heavy machinery? Hell yes!
ReplyDeleteI know I did.
