And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Dukes of Hazzard’ wrecked upwards of 300 1969 Dodge Chargers.
I have been to the “ranch” that supplied the cars. They said later on in the series Warner Brothers wanted “proof” of the various wrecks. So they had to provide the roofs of the cars. They still had a couple of cars at the Melody Ranch.
I know one of the "buyers" that covered the SE US buying 69 Chargers for the show. He kept a few of the well optioned, rarer cars for himself and is currently driving a green 69 Charger Sebring that is on it's second engine. He has driven various 69 Chargers for over 45 years. He is in his mid 70's and I think he has one more 69 Charger that he has restored and installed AC with other comfort and performance mods while he is driving the Sebring to it's death.
Brother's friend had one in the 70's. He wondered why the steering wheel had a half-turn of freeplay and I noticed the steering box bolts were falling out. Suggested he tighten them.
Such a fun TV series!
