And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I have never been happy with clipping my knife in my pocket with those supplied clips, I catch the knife when I'm pulling something else out of my pocket. Maybe I didn't try it long enough to get used to it and avoid catching on it? Usually after the first time I snags I just put it in the pocket and later take the clip off.
Well that's the first time I've agreed w/ghostsniper on anything! Basically if you are catch the clip then there is something you are doing wrong. Talk to someone at the knife counter. Also put the knife up against the edge of the pocket for the direction the blade opens (so the blade will stop on making contact w/that edge should it decide to open on its own.) Loose pocket carry is really really dangerous. Where is the pants pocket for most right handers in relation to the femoral artery? On second thought the world needs less dumb shits so indeed carry it in the pocket. (Last sentence was to honor ghostsniper)
Some 1911s and some 1911 mags can handle 8 rounds. Some only 7. Just be sure your mag functions well in your pistol. Name brands are usually superior to cheaper ones. But not always.
I am quite sure that John Browning could have stuffed the original magazine with 8 rounds that squash the spring and follower into solid mass - but he did not. Why? He went with 7 rounds for absolute reliability. Why anyone would sacrifice that great reliability for one more round (that probably won't feed anyway.) has always amazed me. People who think they are smarter than John Browning are stupid.
Those be 10mm. Stout but surprisingly manageable recoil in a 1911. Colt made one with a red diamond on the scales way back when. Tough on the frame though.
Very tough on the frame. I have seen quite a few that were beaten to death from "warm" handloads. The 1911 was designed for a low pressure low velocity cartridge - the 10 mm is neither..

Clip it inside the right side of your right rear pocket next to your wallet.

DeleteOn this day, (February 14th), in 1911 John Moses Browning patented this marvelous weapon.
ReplyDeletefancy pants 1911 is well and fine but one from a Rock Island litter is fine by me.
ReplyDeleteNice to see that classic rounded triggerguard. I hate the looks of the angular ones with the 'tactical' checkering.
ReplyDeletedunno why, but the cartridges look more like 10mm than the shorter, squatter .45s
ReplyDelete38 Super
ReplyDeleteNothing finer than a 1911
ReplyDeleteMy 1911 magazines only hold 7 rounds. This display is 8 rounds.

ReplyDeleteI hate to pop anyone's bubble, but that ammo ain't even close to .45 ACP.
ReplyDelete9mm, .45, or 38sp; not aware of W/C 10mm but one set of 10 lately
