And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
P-51D-20-NA "Twilight Tear" was a veteran of the 78th FG credited with downing two Me 262 and an Me 109. It was received by the Flygvapnet in June 1948 as 26158. In 1953 it was sold to the Israeli AF,and was later sold on the civilian market. It has been preserved, and previously displayed its old Flygvapnet colours (as seen here) when it flew with Wing F16. It has since been restored and flies with its US wartime colours at Duxford, UK.
Beautiful, both the P-51 and its livery. I've never been a pilot (although envious of those who are,) but the Mustang has just made my blood sing every since I was a little kid.
