And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Hand/Solar powered radios like these were found to be very useful after the hurricanes, and until power could be restored
I have the Kaito KA500. Works like a charm! Does duty as a flash light, beacon and area light as well. I broke the hand crank several years ago, but patched it with some Gorilla glue and a brace, and it's still holding up. The KA500 comes with adapters that can be used to charge various cell phones as well.
