1. Our state government votes to give high school diplomas to all students who flunked the amazingly easy High School Exit exam.
It was the law that to get a diploma, you had to pass the test. In 2014, 97% did pass. The legislature has decided to suspend this requirement retroactively to 2004, and award all the dunces who couldn't pass their sheepskin. Value of the state's high school diploma now is about zero. Thanks, Progressives, once again you have ruined something good.
2. University of California, run by dingbat progressives starting at the top with Janet Napolitano, are about to violate the right to free speech of every student.
Say something they don't like, and it's labelled intolerance, and banned. Forget about the first amendment, you can't say it if your new lords don't approve of it. And they will define what they don't like.
It's like a little league trophy now.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for California to do the same thing with university degrees...

DeleteLast I heard the requirement was only waived for class of 2015. The reasoning is that the test no longer aligned with the curriculum being taught for that year (common core). This affects a very small number of students. Since all students with any type of disability have always been exempt from the requirement. Sister K.
