And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've got about 4000 hours PIC in the T-39 and it's civilian counterpart (NA-265). I was told it was the exact same wing. Does anyone know if that's true or not.
When I was a kid the town I grew up in had one of those sitting in the park with the cockpit open. My brothers and I logged many hours of noisy combat while learning how to fly. Of course, we had to get home when the street lights came on.
What's not to adore about an F-86? It's like strapping yourself to a rocket...not F-104 type rocket, but not all that far off either.

ReplyDeleteI think that's likely true. Both are North American Aviation products and it was one heck of a wing.
