Apollo 11 to the moon!  An interesting retrospective given our recent flyby of Pluto.

  3. I remember it well. We were great back then. Can you just imagine how much we could have discovered if we still invested in the space program?

    1. Well, we did just fly by Pluto - that's nothing to sneeze at. And we've had some good success on Mars lately. No manned stuff beyond the space station, although even there there has been some good imagery, and an interesting investigation into private space. There's been some success.

  4. It was my 10th birthday and my parents took me there, Cape Canaveral that is, for the launch. It was awesome. I still have my polaroids that I took of the TV picture of Neil and Buzz bouncing around on the moon.

I think I have every dvd/blu ray made that has anything to do with Mercury, Apollo, Saturn V and moon machines. Plus The Right Stuff. It never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Great men at a great time in our country. As a woman, now I see the hipster guys with their skinny jeans and smart cars, and it makes my skin crawl.
