    1. Dunno. It looks very spindly. Not a plane to fly in bad or windy weather.

    2. Good glide ratio though...for when the engine conks out. The guideline when flying an airplane is that you can never have too much fuel on board -- unless the airplane is on fire.

    3. Yeah, with the rudimentary engine technology they had at that time, I imagine 'conking out' was a frequent occurrence.

  2. I do believe that's an F.E.2b maybe a "d" (some versions did not have a nose wheel, not sure which).
